We here at the Landed Festival intend to promote as much re-use of collected recyclate as is humanly possible at our festival.
Whilst we support and promote as much recycling as possible, we are aware that the term recycling can often include proceedures and transportation that can cost alot more of the earth's precious resources than they save.
This year "Creative Recycling" will be joining us - helping transform some of the waste we collected at last years event into art installations we can enjoy for years to come!
We strive to find local organisations that will use our waste in an effort to minimise the transport costs and maximise the recycling efficiency of our event. We are delighted to be able to link up with Llanwrtyd Wells Community Transport / Events Recycling who will not only be collecting, sorting and removing our waste, but also joining us at this years festival to show you what they and other local organisations can do with the things we throw away.
Landed festival are pleased to work in conjunction with this fully licensed and highly experienced waste disposal team.
The organisers of the Landed Festival recognise the importance of a full waste management plan.
It is the aim of the organisers to return the site to its previous condition and repair and any damage if necessary as previously agreed with the landowner.
Recycling points with coloured covered wheelie bins will be positioned throughout the festival site and emptied by the waste management team on a regular basis as necessary.
Recycling points will be removed to the recycling sorting area where contents will be sorted for maximum recycling efficiency.
Landed Festival INSISTS on the re-use policy of ALL recyclable materials to minimise the carbon footprint of this event as much as we can and to maximise its recyclable capability.
It is Landed Festival's goal to reach a minimum of 60 - 80 % recycled material using the methods above.
Rubbish and recycling bags will be dispensed to visitors on arrival.
K&S toilet hire will be providing toilets (including disabled access).
They will be serviced as required by K&S throughout the duration of the event.
All glass collected at the event is to be placed in relevant glass bins to be dealt with by the waste management team.
Stewards on roving duty will be equipped with rubbish bags and rubbish clearance will form part of their duties.
Full rubbish bags will be kept in an area inaccessible to festival goers until they are removed from the site.
Caterers will be instructed to control their waste safely and to store it with other festival waste in the designated areas
Any relevant safety policies will be required from all catering and waste producing facilities.
The organisers and crew of Landed Festival will make a final site clearance and cleaning on Tuesday the 8th of May
Liquid Waste (dirty water) will be collected, stored and removed to the closest dirty water disposal.
